With your CAD geometry created, tools paths can be defined and added which define the what the shapes will be cut out by the CNC machine. Then it needs to be processed in the CAM software.

Choosing a POST Processor Program
Post processor programs are usually small, lightweight bits of code that most CNC programmers never have to open or change. These are programs that the CAM program uses as an instruction list for creating the G-Code and each Post Processor program (also known as a Post) is written for the specific CNC machine the g-code is being outputted for.
